The challenge

In 2003 Select Technology IT Support migrated Richard Hochfeld's Novell Groupwise server to a Windows Active Directory network with MS Exchange. Between 2003 and 2009 their network expanded enormously with the addition of SQL, Terminal Services, security appliances and over 100 users. As a result the in-house IT department's resources were increasingly committed to day to day maintenance and end user support. With both new and ongoing IT projects scheduled, Richard Hochfeld decided that external IT support resources were needed to support their burgeoning IT infrastructure and to provide consultancy on IT projects.

The solution

• Select Technology were retained by Richard Hochfeld to work in conjunction with their in-house team to provide 2nd and 3rd line remote, telephone and onsite IT support. In addition, Select Technology provided the specialist skills, experience and expert guidance on new technologies like virtualisation and consolidation being implemented at Richard Hochfeld
• By establishing a 24 hour remote proactive monitoring system seamlessly integrated with Richard Hochfeld's own infrastructure, Select Technology can now quickly identify, diagnose and resolve issues with minimal disruption
